Happy 50th Anniversary Bolingbrook!
I was surprised to learn that I would be marching in front of the Grand Marshall car this year. The Grand Marshal this year was Mayor Roger Claar and his family. Mayor Claar is one of my favorite people. He is an EIU alum, he has supported me since as long as I can remember, and I am glad I can call him my friend.
With all of the favorite EIU marching band tunes I led the way for his car and family. It definitely was the highlight of my many years of marching with the Brooks Bulldog Band, the Raider Marching Band, the BHS Thespians, and the Bolingbrook Park District.
Being in the front of the parade was such a thrill! I loved seeing family, friends and fans as I marched my way to Village Hall. The treat I had planned for the judges was twirling fire baton as they welcomed me.
A special thanks goes out to Dr. Hile, EIU Panther Marching Band Director and President Glassman for their support in this special appearance. I was thrilled to be the University Ambassador to celebrate with Mayor Claar that day.
